Brad has been with CFVP for approximately 7 months. Brad's progress has been awesome. He's been on a steady dose of hard work, smart eating habits, and it shows. We'll let him comment on the actual number of pounds lost but the pictures speak. His wife, Julie, has also made some remarkable changes. Both of you have been inspirations. Keep up the great work.

Group

There are alot of new faces here at CFVP. We are doing our best to get them up on the website so you know who they are. Please introduce yourselves and make them feel welcome. As you know, getting into CrossFit can be just a little intimidating. Welcome everyone.

Here We Go

Photo

This is a big upcoming week for CFVP. Stephanie Teague, Director and Head Coach of CFVP Endurance just got done attending the CrossFit Endurance Camp. Look closely and you will see another smiling face. Lisa Moore also attending. Great job ladies! Here is a rundown of the launch from CFVP Endurance. The Endurance classes will be posted on our Mindbody scheduling page. You simply sign up for them as you would regular CrossFit classes.

LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN.....7 DAYS UNTIL ENDURANCE PROGRAM BEGINS

Are you ready to get started?  Couple of items on the to do list to get ready for next week:

1.  Mark your calendar for Wednesday, January 25th at 7:30pm for the Endurance Program Kick off and Big River Running Shoe Night.  Open to members and non members interested in finding out more about the Endurance classes and shopping for minimalist shoes.  After an overview of the program from Stephanie, Andrew from Big River Running will be talking the pro's and con's of minimalist shoes and bringing shoes to try on and purchase at a special discount.  PLEASE  comment if you plan on attending so I can get an idea of attendance.

2.Dig through your closet and find your winter running gear.  While we are expecting a couple of treadmills soon, you can count on some outside running - so think layers, gloves, a hat, etc.

3.Set some goals.  Figure out what races you want to participate in this year.  Step out of your comfort zone a little - longer road race, triathlon, crazy mud run, we are crossfitters - we don't like comfortable!

4.  Not interested in racing - no worries, come find out how the endurance program can improve your cardio respiratory fitness and  bring new pr's to your WODS.

5.  Think about adding some additions to your crossfit bag of goodies.  Lacrosse ball, small foam roller, sports watch, theraband - all helpful tools of the trade.

6.  Get used to checking the website and make sure to LIKE our Facebook page.  Workouts will be posted daily on the website and group runs, news, race pics, and all team communication will be posted on Facebook.

7.  Rest up and get ready to Run!!

Welcome Jenny

Jenny-1

CFVP would like to welcome Jenny Schwartz. Jenny has been with us for a couple months now. She has shown steady progress with hard work and determination. She PR'd her 3 rep max Deadlift today by 50 lbs! Welcome Jenny and nice job.

Tim-1

Speaking of accomplishments. First of all, you may not recognize Tim Reinwald in this picture. He's been on a steady progression of weight loss. We didn't have an up to date picture. He ran his first 5K over the weekend. He was anticipating a time of around 37 minutes and ended up finishing in 32:59. Great job Tim.

Shannon-1

CFVP would like to officially welcome Chris Nugent and Shannon Hill to our family. Chris is adapting to CrossFit training nicely and always gives 100 percent. Shannon has been with us for a while now. Her consistency and hard work are paying off. She completed her first 10K run over the weekend. The run was filled with long steep hills and she ran the whole way. Great job Chris and Shannon.

Ladies Night 4

Ladies night 4-1

Ladies night bw 4-1

Ladies Night 4 is in the books. After we identified and expelled the "VP Stalker", we got down to business. Tonight was a partner WOD combined with couplets and #3000 lb. dumbbell totals. The energy was high and it was quite a display of strength and power. Melissa Schwab and Wendy Oelrichs finished with the top time of 23:48. Great job Melissa and Wendy! We want to thank our members for bringing in some new faces. The ladies did great. As usual, it was such an awesome display of determination and athleticism.
